A funny thing happened on the road to changing careers. We became inclined to pursue a creative outlet and decided to create a niche in the marketplace by constructing pillows from mens ties. At first we went on a tie buying frenzy, proceeding in a cart-in-front-of-the-horse fashion. Next thing we knew, we owned 5000+ ties! So off to pillow making work we went. Our parents taught us the value of conservation and reuse, and that mentality spilled into our need to ensure that no part of a tie went unused. However, in an effort to streamline our products, we increasingly needed to use standard width ties with one another. That left a lot of skinny ties and wide ties by the wayside.

We started to pay attention to the labels on the backs of these discards and realized they had a value all their own. Wanting to learn more about them, we looked for and purchased all relevant books. The more informed we became, the more we fell in love with these ties, not only for their intrinsic value, but also for their beauty and service as wearable art to men throughout the years. At about the same time we also recognized that men don't seem to buy pillows, so by branching off and offering ties for sale as well, we felt our website would attract a broader demographic. We've since expanded our inventory to include handmade sachets filled with lavender buds, balsam fir needles, and cedar wood.

Our goal has been to design a website that reflects our fascination with the history and development of men's ties. We wish to share our newfound enthusiasm with others and to pair new and vintage ties with consumers who exhibit similar interests. We have made every effort to describe the ties the best we can and to provide as much information about designers and various product lines.
