Men's square end ties are in a class all their own, and have been a popular alternative to standard pointed neckties for many years. Woven, machine knit and crocheted square end neckties were often referred to as flat bottom neckties in the 50's and 60's. Vintage flat bottom men's ties from this era often had an embroidered flourish or monogram stitched midway up the neckties for visual impact.
